New technique

I saw a tutorial over att .jennifer mcguires blogg and wanted to give it a go :-) It´s about highlitning your background so that the sentiment pop more and doesn´t disappear into a busy background.
I started stamping on white paper with a solid stamp. I then used white ink into the area where I wanted my sentiment.I had to do many layers until it was ok to put stamp the sentiment that says "feel better". I finnished it off with som stickles :-)

On the second card I tried to stamp tone on tone on pink cardstock. Then again I used the white ink to soften an area in the middle for my sentiment " think of you". I heat embossed the sentiment.
I was quite pleased with my first attemps on this technique but there are absolutly room for inprovements :-)

Baptism

I went to a baptism yesterday at my church. My friend has got a baby-boy and yesterday he got his name, Pontus, and was welcomed into the congregation. This is the card I made for him to go with the gifts. It says welcome to the world.

Moon

I was inspired by the challenge over at CAS-ology where the theme is "moon".
I masked a circle and started to colour over it with black distress ink. Closest to the moon I then coloured over the black with white ink to make it more pale/light. I then partial embossed the paper so that I got the stars around the moon, and I covered them with perfekt pearls to add some shine. I then added the birds that are coloured with brown distress ink and red perfekt pearls.
I searched so long to find the right sentiment for this scene, but I did'nt find any.... I then decided that it was best without any sentiment. Now the card says anything you want it to.

Blue butterfly

Yesterday I used the negative of the butterfly I die-cut as a stencil. Today I wanted to use the butterfly itself. I don't use butterflies that much on my cards but I always think they look pretty on other peoples cards. But after this card I think I will use them a bit more :-) i need to use all the stuff I have more insteed of buying new things. But it's hard, there are always so many new pretty things turning up that you believe you got to have, isn't it?
Well... This card is made only from "old" things. I used maskning tape to pick up the colour and transfering it to my paper. I used there colours of blue distress ink. The butterfly has been sprayed with blue perfect pearls mist, but it's hard to see in the photos. The sentiment says congratulations.

I'm entering this card in these challenges:

Golden butterfly

For this card I have used many things that I have had in my stash for so long but very rarly use. First it´s  the butterfly-die, that for this card I used the negative as a stencil insteed of using the butterfly itself. I coloured it with distress ink, two colours of green, and then splashed it with water and put some perfect pearls gold on it for some nice shimmer. I then used another die-shape that I haven´t used in a while. I masked off a strip on the cardbase with post-its and coloured it with the lightest of my green distress ink. I then used a stencil and coloured over that with a darker shade of green to create a pattern. I mounted the butterfly on some demensions. The sentiment is stamped with green distress ink and golden perfect pearls.
It was difficult to take a good photo of the card so that you could see the golden shimmer, so I let you see three pictures of it :-)

I´m entering this card in the challange at Less is more : gold and green
